Formula to Calculate SBI RD

The formula is used to calculate the maturity amount for the SBI RD scheme :-

F = P * [ ((1 + i)^n - 1) / i ]

  • F = Total Maturity amount
  • P = Monthly investments done by a person
  • i = Interest rate (need to be converted in decimal forms before putting it in the formula and divide by 4 as it is calculated quarterly )
  • n = Investment durations in years (need to be converted in months before putting it in the formula)
Formula Use Example
Let's say you want to invest Rs 1,000 per month in your SBI RD account and that to for 5 years, and the interest rate is 6.50% calculate the maturity amount using the formula below :

F = 1000 [ ((1 + 0.016)^60 - 1) / 0.016 ]

  • Total Investment Amount - ₹60,000
  • Total Interest- ₹11,057
  • Maturity Value- ₹71,057
