EPF Withdrawal frequency

I wanted to close my outstanding Home loan, and some financial person advised me to claim partial withdrawal with House renovation, but that amount which my claim was approved was not sufficient to close my Home loan and this i did in August of this year 2025.

Can someone please let me know if i can do one more claim immediately? And is there a frequency wait period for the next withdrawal and also i got a EPFO PDF with withdrawal reasons and Home loan repayment is mentioned under Para 68BB but this is not available in the online form to claim, so i had to use House renovation as the purpose.

Please let me know which is the right purpose i need to use to make partial withdrawal, to pay off my complete Home loan. Please note even if i pay off my complete Home loan i will be left with ~40% of my PF balance. So this will meet the new amendment for EFP 3.0 rules.

Why i am doing this? I am paying hefty interest to Banks and want to save this loss and divert the interest growth for myself and my family, with the same EMI i am paying the home loan.

Please advice/guide.

Came to this forum because i stumbled upon video of the Beautiful lady on the Youtube channel talking about EPFO 3.0 new rules!!!!

Good to see your detailed post. This is actually a common question lately with the EPFO 3.0 changes. From what I understand, there is a waiting period between two partial withdrawals, and EPFO generally doesn’t allow back-to-back claims for similar purposes within a short time frame. The rule under Para 68BB (home loan repayment) is still valid, but yes, it’s not always visible on the online portal, many members face that issue.

You might want to check directly with your regional EPFO office or raise a grievance on the EPFiGMS portal. They usually respond with clarity on which purpose to select and whether a second claim can be filed now.

Also, since you’ve already used the “house renovation” option once, they might ask you to wait before using another housing-related reason. But again, rules keep changing under EPFO 3.0, so best to double-check before applying.

Let us know what you find out, could help others in the same situation too.

Hey Anurag,
Thanks for your response. I was waiting to complete the suggestion which you recommended and then wanted to reply to your post.

I did reach out to EPFO grievance helpdesk via EPFI GMS portal this was a very helpful guidance from your end. First response i received the same PDF which i had earlier with the reason but they did not give me details if i can apply and where to apply for the same since the online form does have the "reason" listed in the claim form. Then i had i re-open my grievance and ask this again, today i received the response saying i need to apply it at there office with a physical form providing the reason as mentioned in the PDF. So i will have to visit the EPFO and do this activity.

I am attaching the PDF which was shared with me here for others reference if it helps.
