Amex Credit card limit

Hello guys
My Amex card limit is 50k , i wanted to swipe for 80 k , is it possible if i pay more 50k money on my credit card and swipe for 80 k on my amex card????
Previously i have done with hdfc i have done more payment on my cc , I can do transaction beyond my limit. Has anyone experience with Amex card??

You can't swipe whole amount in a single payment you must need to make it in fractions whether 2 or 3.

Thanks for replying... But I have tested this two days back i swipe for 61k when my limit is 50k... I paid more on card first then i swipe.. so u can do that..

Yes its possible as whatever you pay for the card it will add up to credit limit for example if you pay 30k extra but your limit was 50k only.
Your new limit will be 80k as 30k will be added as you credit balance or the extra balance.

Many cards have stopped allowing extra payment.. if u pay extra they will refund or reject it..

Yes I know as they want customers to take overdraft facility and charge interest on them.
But there is no harm in trying once.
