Yes, you can convert your HDFC savings account into a salary account if your company has a tie-up with HDFC Bank for salary accounts. To do this, you can contact your HR or visit your nearest HDFC branch with:

  1. Your company ID card
  2. Latest salary slip
  3. A request letter (if required by the bank)

Once converted, you'll get additional benefits like zero balance, better debit card offers, and special loan facilities.

What is a Relationship Manager (RM)?

A Relationship Manager (RM) is a bank representative assigned to help you with banking needs, investment advice, loans, and priority services.

  • Not only salary accounts have RMs.
  • Priority banking customers, HNI (high-net-worth individuals), and premium savings account holders may also get an RM.

What Happens to a Salary Account If You Leave the Company?

If your salary is not credited for 3 months, HDFC will convert your salary account into a regular savings account. This means:

  1. Minimum balance requirement (₹10,000 for metro cities, ₹5,000 for semi-urban, ₹2,500 for rural)
  2. Loss of salary account benefits like zero balance and exclusive offers

If you join a new company that has an HDFC tie-up, you can update your employer details and continue the benefits.
