Credit Card Bill Autopay Activate

I had activated my credit card bill auto payment but even after the bill was generated, my bill was not automatically paid, I had to wait till the due date of the bill and make the payment manually. My question is how credit card bill autopayment works, if anyone can tell me in detail it would be very helpful.

suppose your bill generated on 1 nov of rs 10000 your due to date was nov 21. if you dont pay 10000 on 3 or 5 days before due date autopay will trigger & on nov 21 amount will auto deducted if there is no balance in linked account you will charged 500+gst as dishonour fee for auto debit failed since no funds in linked account.
if you paid 10000 before 5 days of due date you treated as paid so no autopay trigger if you paid only 3000 before 5 days for rest 7000 auto pay triggered and debit from linked account on nov 21
important thing* if you paid just before due date nov 19 or 20 since auto pay triggered on 5 days before due date though you paid auto debit will happened on nov 21 it reflect as excess amount it will adjust on next bill or you can contact bank for refund
