Hello Everyone,

I need your advice and suggestion for insurance renewal for the Creta 2024 petrol DCT. This is the 1st renewal post-purchase. Commuting is mostly in the city with an average running of aroud 8000 km/yr.

My current insurance includes a comprehensive plan from ICICI Lombard for one year and a third-party plan for three years. The comprehensive coverage is about to expire, and I haven't made any claims so far.

  1. ICICI Lombard is costly hence thinking of switching, I would like to understand and seek your suggestion on which insurance company to switch (thinking of SBI General Insurance).
  2. Secondly, what all addons to be considerd ? (ThirdParty /roadside assistance(by hyundai) is already there for next 2 yrs. Thinking for going with OwnDamage OD + Zero Deprection, Please advice if anything else more add on need to be conisdered?)

SBI General is a good pick in terms of pricing and reliability. However, you can also consider GoDigit, United Insurance, The Oriental insurance, Reliance General, as they often provide competitive quotes with wider cashless garage networks and faster claim settlement.
✅ Recommended Add-ons for Your Usage (City + 8,000 km/year)
  1. Zero Depreciation – Must-have.
  2. Engine Protect – Especially useful for automatic transmission vehicles like DCT. It protects against water ingression and oil leakage.
  3. Consumables Cover – Covers nuts, bolts, oils, etc., which are not usually covered in basic claims.
  4. Return to Invoice (RTI) – Optional but helpful if theft or total loss is a concern.
  5. Tyre Protect (Optional) – Useful if you often drive through uneven or pothole-filled roads.

📝 Pro Tip: Always check for cashless garages near your location, claim settlement ratio, and premium comparison before switching.
