RTGS/NEFT/IMPS Transfer with HDFC Bank:
There are two ways to initiate an RTGS / NEFT/ IMPS transfer with HDFC Bank:
- Offline submission /In Branch Request (FOR RTGS/NEFT)
- Mobile Banking (FOR RTGS /NEFT /IMPS).
Step 1: Download and Complete the Form
- Download the attached NEFT/RTGS form (in PDF format). This same form will be provided to you if you choose to initiate the transfer through an in-branch request.
- Print a clear copy of the downloaded form.
- Fill out the form completely and accurately. How to fill up the form is mentioned below
Remember to carry the following things with you while submitting the RTGS form:
- Debit instruction of your HDFC Bank account/ cheque leaf with transfer amount, and ‘HDFC Bank Ltd. – RTGS’ as payee.
- Aadhaar card, PAN card and Voter ID are must for transactions more than 50,000RS.
How to Fill up the Form?
- Provide the HDFC bank branch name, time and date.
- Then tick the RTGS/NEFT column.
- Also Mention the Cheque leaf number and write the amount to be transferred.
- Then, fill out the Beneficiary Details including their name, account number, address, Bank Name/IFSC code and amount.
- Also tick the resident/non-resident tick boxes.
- Mention the amount (both in amount and words) you want to transfer in the next column
- Provide your own details which include your name, account number
- Mention your personal details - email, phone number and address. This is important so that in case the transaction doesn’t go through you’ll get the notification on above mentioned details.
- Now give the terms and conditions a thorough reading and tick the RTGS/NEFT tick boxes.
- Provide your Signature.
- Visit your nearest HDFC Bank branch.
- Submit the completed NEFT/RTGS form along with any required identification documents to a bank teller or customer service representative.
- Once your request is processed, the funds will be transferred to the beneficiary's account.
- Download and login into your HDFC Bank MobileBanking App.
- Type in your PIN to access the app.
- Go to the Funds Transfer Tab.
- Choose from IMPS or NEFT.
- Fill in details of Beneficiary, MMID, Amount, and Remarks and click on continue.
- You will get a confirmation sms for IMPS transaction.
- Enter the PIN and confirm to initiate the transaction.
Conclusion - When to use what?
- For urgent, high-value transfers: Use RTGS if speed is critical and the amount is substantial. Be aware of minimum transfer limits and potential fees.
- For routine transfers and bill payments: NEFT is a convenient and cost-effective option for transfers within India, although it's not real-time.
- For small, urgent transfers: IMPS is ideal for immediate transfers of smaller amounts, even on holidays. Be mindful of potential maximum limits and fees.
