How to close demat/trading account?

Kotak mahindra bank had opened my demat\trading account when I went there for my upgradation of 811 account. As I do not do trading, does it incurr any annual charge? If yes, then how to close demat/trading account?

While Kotak Securities charges an annual maintenance charge (AMC) of Rs 600 for demat accounts, there are new plans for young investors and first-time users that may offer lower fees.
You can directly go to Kotak Securites office and ask them to close it, I suggest that as it is the fastest way to close it.

- First, they took the application, then sold the holding I have in Demat.
- And within a week I got confirmation mail regarding the closure of my Demat account with them.

If you are not having Kotak Securities office in your town then you have to call the costumer care and ask them to close it.
