Hi,
I have an account in the Hyderabad HDFC bank.
Due to unforeseen health issues and a period of unemployment, I was unable to maintain the required minimum balance in my account. As a result, a penalty of was deducted when my account had a balance.
My account was initially showing negative -Rs222/- balance, when I Rs 22,000 deposited they deducted Rs 8177/- from the account.
I raised a request in the HDFC customer care portal to consider my situation and refund the penalty, to which they stated the deducted amount is correct and can’t be refunded.
Can anyone please suggest what should be done now to escalate the request further above the chain to at least get some consideration for the deducted amount.
