For senior citizens age more than 60 years difficult to get a new policy because at this age many cases they are suffering with various health issues like diabetics, high blood pressure, high cholesterol etc.
If thoroughly health checkup is done also increase some health issues more.
In this situation very difficult to get health plan maximum of them rejected.

There are specific policies designed for people above 60 years of Age (Senior Citizen Health Insurance Plans). Some of the decent options are : Care Plus by Care Insurance, Health Companion by Niva Bupa, My Suraksha by HDFC Ergo, etc.

Most of the Senior Citizen Health Insurance Plans will come with a waiting period for pre - existing illnesses, however what you can optimize for is the duration of this waiting period. The plans I've suggested have low waiting period of ~2-4 Years.
