Hi Community,

1] Do we get 10% Cashback on groceries at local vendors when you scan and pay using UPI via the HSBC Cashback Rupay variant?

2] Is the 1% cashback calculated per 100 rs spent or does it give fraction cashback for spends like 30rs, 70rs etc

3] For the add-on card, can we enable scan and pay using UPI on the add-on card?

Can anyone using this card please confirm on the above before applying for this card?

Hi Sanket, I researched about this and found this information about these issues. Here’s what I’ve found:

1. The 10% cashback on groceries applies only to online grocery transactions (like BigBasket, Blinkit, etc.), not local vendors or UPI payments. UPI spends are treated as regular transactions and earn the standard 1% cashback.
2. The 1% cashback is calculated on the exact transaction amount, so you’ll get fractional cashback even for smaller spends like ₹30 or ₹70.
3. Yes, you can enable UPI on add-on cards as long as the card is linked to the same RuPay network. Just add it to your UPI app separately.
