IDFC First WOW credit card should I upgrade or shift ?

I'm a fresher and my salary account is KOTAK ( not issuing credit cards ) not issuing credit cards.

I applied for many cards and got rejected ( HDFC swiggy, HSBC live + , AMAZON ICICI pay, SBI )

As I didnt have bank account till my company made me open one, I used my mothers card ( changed number to mine for UPIs )

Eventually the day came when I need a credit card, as I'm a 2024 graduate with non existent credit history and my salary being credited into an account that doesn't issue credit cards. I find myself applying to a lot of credit cards and getting rejected ( ik its wrong but what can I do ?)

I ended making an FD of 20K and for IDFC first WOW credit card , after using the card for almost 2 weeks, I liked the service and opened a platinum savings account and put my savings ( around 2.5 lakhs ) in that bank , now after using the credit card for a month I realised that this has absolutely no use, I mean even super money card is giving good cashbacks.

I wanted to ask the IDFC guys I need an upgrade or just apply for super money card ? what do y'all suggest ?

I'll also tell you my expenses and use case:

My take home is 80K per month now and I get 4000 worth pluxee card on top which usually covers half of my groceries and ordering food budget
I'm expecting a rise pretty soon as my manager said before giving an offer they need at least 1 yr experience to consider for what I've asked for ( I'm a fresher) I save around 50k Send ( parents ) 15k ( they get pension just giving some more to support them ) 9k is my rent Rest 6-7k are my expenses ( bus, some street food etc )
Now you tell me what will help me more ?
I'm thinking most of these are non-rewardable right ? Just the last 6-7k I could get some decent cash back.
So I thought I'll move to super money card for the cashback.
Or any card that gives good rewards on daily merchant spends.

I'm open to suggestions and inputs or even lessons on managing my finances.

If you can utilize Tata Neu Coins then apply for Tata Neu Infinity/Plus CC against FD or else stick with the IDFC till you get an Unsecured LTF CC as Super Money CC will not be of much use in your case.

For daily Cashback use Navi & Super Money for UPI spends. 🤗

There is a minimum waiting period of six months for credit card upgrades. Additionally, I don't see any worthwhile cards that match the Super Money cashback offered by IDFC. Therefore, it is better to close the current card and open a Super Money card

Open your savings account either HDFC or ICICI Bank with deposit amount of 1 or two lakh, they will offer you Credit Card based on your FD. Contact RM.

Else there is an another way to build your credit score, get personal loan on your kotak salary account, build your credit score, once your cibil score reaches 750+ , open an savings account with SBI Bank and within 90 days they will call you and inform that you will be offered pre approved credit card. This way you will get unsecured credit card easily based on your CIBIL score.

Shift your salary account to Hdfc or icici. If salary account shift is not possible open an account with hdfc or icici or axis and move ur savings there.U will get a card approval from these banks if u have an account.
Dont close ur idfc card now.wait till u get a good card.till then put whatever spends possible on wow card and make timely payment.dont keep applying for cards repeatedly as it looks bad for card issuing bank.
Above all be patient and u will get a card soon.Good luck!
