Is it possible to get sbi or amex credit card ltf

I want to enquire if anyone is able to get amex or sbi credit card as ltf.
If yes can anyone share how.

Apart from this I would be interested to know how anyone would have requested to make their paid credit card as ltf card

SBI does not generally provide you with a free lifetime credit card, nor does Amex, but both of them provide several credit cards where the annual fees are exempt if you spend a specified limit.

SBI Credit Cards:

• SimplySAVE SBI Card: Annual fee waived for spending above ₹1.5 lakh in the previous year.
• SBI Card Elite: Annual fee of ₹499 (plus taxes) waived off on annual spends of ₹1 lakh or more in the preceding year.

American Express Credit Cards (Amex):

• Amex Basic Card: An annual fee of ₹999 is waived off on spending ₹1.8 lakh or more in the first year.
• Amex Edge: An annual fee of ₹2,500 is waived off on spending ₹3 lakh or more in the first year.
• Amex Platinum Travel Credit Card: Annual fee of ₹5,500 waived off on spending ₹6 lakh or more in the membership year.

Yes, Amex do their promotions in corporate hubs and offer their cards as LTF.
But if we apply they won't.
SBI, you have to take paid cards and later try your luck with retention officer.

It is possible to get American Express (Amex) and State Bank of India (SBI) credit cards as Lifetime Free (LTF), but the requirements and process can vary:

Amex Cards:
- Amex cards can become LTF if they are companion cards to a higher-tier Amex card, such as the Amex Platinum Travel card.
- The primary Amex Platinum Travel card holder can get the MRCC (Membership Rewards Credit Card) as an LTF companion card.
- However, the Amex Gold card does not automatically become LTF even if you have the Amex Platinum Travel card.

SBI Cards:
- SBI cards can become LTF if the customer requests card closure and the SBI retention team offers the LTF option.
- This is more likely to happen for premium SBI cards like the SBI Elite card, if the customer has high annual spends on the card (e.g. over ₹1.5 lakhs per year).
- The SBI Elite card can provide benefits like free movie tickets that can offset the annual fee, making it worthwhile to keep the card even without the LTF option.

SBI & Amex do not offer any of their cards LTF directly. However, if you apply for few of the Amex cards (MRCC, Platinum Travel card and a couple of others I guess) through a referral link you can get FYF. Later you can try negotiating with the customer care to make it a LTF. It may work that way.
