Hi Everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out because I'm new to the home loan process and could really use some guidance from those with more experience.
I've been exploring different home loan options recently, and while there's a ton of content online (especially on YouTube), I'm finding it all a bit overwhelming and confusing. There are so many opinions and suggestions, and it's hard to know what actually works best in real life.
I recently checked with ICICI Bank, and to my surprise, I am eligible for the amount I was hoping for — so that’s a good start! However, I'm still unsure whether ICICI is the right choice or if there are better options out there in terms of service, flexibility, and overall value.
One important feature I'm looking for in a home loan is the ability to make extra payments whenever possible — so I can reduce the principal and pay off the loan sooner without facing heavy penalties or restrictions. This flexibility matters a lot to me.
If you have any experience with ICICI or any other banks (HDFC, SBI, Axis, LIC Housing, etc.), or if you’ve been through this process recently and have any tips, I would be so grateful for your input. Which bank or loan product worked well for you? Was the service smooth? Any hidden charges I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!
