You can try this old trick, though it has a 70/30 chance of success:

- Call SBI customer care and request to close your card. They will forward your call to a retention officer who may negotiate to waive this year’s fee or convert it to a lifetime free card. If you are not fortunate, they will proceed to close the card.

1768.82/- is too much fee for what that card offers.
