Shared limit

Shared credit limit on 2 ICICI credit cards.
I have 2 ICICI credit cards, 1. Amazon pay. 2. Normal ICICI credit card. They share a limit of 90,000 rs. According to the customer care of ICICI but i haven't tried going over that limit combined. They individually have 90,000 rs. limit and the ICICI credit card app shows as such. Now my question is "if i spend 45000 on one and same 45000 on the other one (total spend - 90,000), will my credit Utilisation be calculated on shared limit of 90,000 rs. or overall limit of 1,80,000rs."?

ICICI Bank has a unique way of reporting credit card limits. Even if multiple cards have a combined limit, the bank reports each card separately to the credit bureau. This helps customers manage their credit score better.

Now, let's address your question. You have two cards with a combined limit of ₹90,000, which is shared between them.

If you spend ₹45,000 on one card and ₹45,000 on the other, it may seem like you've utilized 50% of the limit on each card. However, since ICICI Bank reports each card separately, it will appear as if you've used 50% of each card's limit, even though you've actually used 100% of the combined limit.

To maintain a good credit score, it's recommended to keep your credit utilization below 30%. For example, try to use ₹27,000 on each card, which is below 30% of the combined limit.

Your credit utilization will be calculated on the overall limit of ₹180000 in your CIBIL report, but you can't spend more than ₹90,000 using both credit cards, or the bank will impose over-limit charges if you do. 🫣1000039218.jpg
