TATA AIG rejected renewal of car insurance does any one know why?

Hi, I just call TATA AIG customer care to get my quotation to renew insurance but they said, you can't renew insurance because team has rejected it due to Car History.
I mean the reason they give is 'Car History' nothing more. and told me to renew from different company.
I have purchased car on 30th of Jan 2025 and had one accident which cost them around 50K. Because of that they reject to renew or any other reason? Please tell me if any one knows insides of this.
Car is TATA PUNCH.

This usually happens when the insurer flags the car as “high risk” based on past claims. In your case, since the car is fairly new and you’ve already had a claim of around 50K, TATA AIG might have put it under a category where they don’t want to continue the policy. They normally don’t give detailed reasons, just “car history” or “risk assessment”.

It doesn’t mean something is wrong with the car, it’s just their internal underwriting rule. Many insurers do this after a big or early claim. What you can do now:
  1. Try getting renewal quotes from other insurers like ICICI Lombard, Bajaj Allianz, HDFC Ergo, Digit, Reliance, etc. They usually accept vehicles even after a previous claim.
  2. Go through the IMT inspection if required, some companies inspect the car before offering a policy after a claim.
  3. Take a comprehensive plan + zero depreciation again since the car is new.
  4. Avoid a long gap in insurance, don’t let the policy lapse, otherwise inspection becomes mandatory everywhere.
This is quite common, so don’t worry too much. Just try another insurer, you should easily get a policy issued. If you want, share your city and current IDV, and I can suggest which insurer might approve fastest.
