Upgrade HDFC credit card

I have HDFC Indigo 6E Rewards Life time free credit card. But I want HDFC millenia credit card. I raised queries multiple times to upgrade but every time I am getting same reply that you will get offer in few days and wait for sometime. I am waiting since 1 year now and not getting any upgrade offer.
I also tried to close the card thinking that I will apply after few months. But they said that if you close the card you will never get HDFC card in future.
Questions:
1. Is there any alternative way to upgrade and get millenia credit card?
2. Is this true that if I close the current card and will never get HDFC credit card again?

This is not true, you can close the card and apply for a new card after 6 months.

Forget about millennia card, it is outdated now. Consider taking Swiggy HDFC card.
it is being issued as LTF now.

What is the Credit Limit on your existing Card? I think the limit should be more than 1 lakh for upgrading to Millennia.
Did you ever try approaching Level 2, Leave 3 of Grievance for upgrading the card, I think that will help. Else you can submit form through HDFC Bank or send directly to their Chennai Office.
