Hi everyone,
I’m 20 years old and currently working as a freelancer, earning around ₹1–2 lakhs per month. I maintain a SBI Lotus Savings Account, which I opened when I got my first PAN card. I have regular banking activity and healthy monthly transactions.
A few months ago, I made a mistake with an mPokket loan – I forgot to repay one EMI on time, and it was reported as 1 Day DPD (Days Past Due) on my credit reports. Even though it was just 1 day late and I’ve cleared all dues since, that single mark is affecting my credit card approvals.
Here’s my current credit profile:
Credit Report Portfolio:
CIBIL Score: 742
CRIF Score: 660
Experian Score: 747
Late Payment: 1 day (only once, reported by mPokket)
Banking Activity: Regular ₹1–2 lakh monthly transactions via freelancing income
Savings Account: SBI Lotus
Will this one late payment continue to hurt my future credit card or personal loan applications?
How long will it take to recover from this?
What can I do to improve my profile and get approvals like others with no late payments?
I see my friends and cousins enjoying credit card benefits, and I really want to build my credit properly too. Any guidance or personal experience would mean a lot to me
Thanks in advance!
