A lot of folks still rely on Cash for their everyday needs and finding an ATM is not always the easiest task. Though we keep hearing stories of how Digital Payments have taken the center stage and have already taken over cash transactions, Cash is still the King with more than 60% share in total transactions (volume wise). Under these circumstances ATMs become really important and finding an ATM becomes a superpower.
A lot of times we tend to forget the location of the ATM where we did our last transaction. But there are certain ways by which you can retrieve this information. In this post we will share 5 such ways.
1) Using ATM ID in ATM Slip
Step 1: For this you will need the slip you would’ve received during your Last ATM transaction.
Step 2: If you’re able to successfully locate that slip, you’ll notice an ID on the top right corner of the slip. Sometimes it's also called the ATM Number. It’ll look something like this on the Slip.
Step 3: Once you’ve located this slip, this is what you should do to find out the exact location of the ATM
Step 4: Call Customer Care and mention the ATM ID to them. All ATMs are allocated unique IDs for identification.
Step 5: Customer Care Rep will check the database and confirm the exact location of the ATM.
2) Internet Banking
Most of us use Internet Banking on Daily Basis for our transactions. This is how you can Locate ATMs location using Internet Banking
Step 1: Login to your Internet Banking
Step 2: Download 3 Month/ 6 Month Account Statement. Assuming you’ve made at least 1 ATM transaction in the mentioned time period.
Step 3: Locate the ATM transaction. It’ll look something like this. Notice 2nd last row in this table
Step 4: You’ll find both the Number and Name of the ATM where you did a transaction. In some cases only Number will be mentioned, you can either call up Customer Care or simply Google the ATM Number + Bank Name.
3) By SMS
You get an SMS from the Bank after all your Transactions. And even though it’s a Short Message but it can reveal a lot of crucial details. This is how the SMS looks
In this you’ll notice that there is a Specific Code assigned to the ATM. If you simply Google Banks Name + This Code it will give you an indication of the ATM location.
4) Customer Care
This is for People who’re not very tech savvy and tend to rely more on interpersonal touch and phone calls. You can simply call Customer Care and once they’ve verified your details (Name, Account Number, etc), they’ll be happy to share the ATM Location with you.
5) Passbook
If calling up Customer Care doesn’t work, you can simply walk to your nearest branch along with your updated Passbook. You can simply share the transaction details, and they’ll happily inform the ATM location.
