A small doubt regarding moonlighting

Can a government official (of central governmental post ) have a side income like youtube? If yes , what should I keep in mind ?

Some say yes, some say no and some say its immoral and others say just informing to required authority should suffice

You can have a side income from you tube. Points to be kept in mind:
- Check your appointment letter to see if they have clause related to moonlighting
- Make sure you are into a area which is not in conflict with your current role as an employee of the organisation
- Do a meaningful discussion with your manager. Discuss honestly your goals. They will support you, if they really want to.

Well said. Even I don't think having side interest (and monetising from it) is a problem - till the time your side interests are conflicting or compromising with your main line of work.
