all banks calculate almost similarly.. so emi won't be very different.. It is daily interest.. You will see the impact when you prepay of how they calculate daily.. any date is ok.. prefer about 4-7 days after your salary date so you have enough time to arrange funds if anything happens in between.. avoid emi on salary dates..

All the banks usually charge interest on monthly reducing balance,except in case of Home saver or max gain kind of product linked with your Home loan will be calculated on daily reducing balance depending upon your usage of that linked account.
