Greetings Everyone,
I opened my Groww Account during COVID. Actually I just wanted to invest in mutual funds so didn't need Demat account but it was opened.
I never used this account for any kind of transaction at all. I wrote a letter to close/deactivate the account which they misplaced according to customer care.
I'd like to know what exactly happens in such cases. Is it still functional? Have they deactivated or closed the account?

My experience with Zerodha: I opened an account with them in 2021 and actively used it for six months. Afterward, I stopped using it.
In December 2023, when I tried to buy stocks, they informed me that I needed to redo the KYC process to resume investing.

In such cases, the account will become dormant.
