I have noticed that after filling user id and password in HDFC NetBanking, it logined without otp and where other banks required OTP to login .Is there any way to activate login with otp in HDFC or it is always like this from before.

Isn't this a security concern for us?

Yes there's no OTP login for HDFC NetBanking, same is the case for ICICI as well. Axis didn't have OTP login previously, they've recently introduced this OTP login where you generate OTP through their Open app every time you want to login to NetBanking

It’s not the same for all. However, I get OTP most of the time while logging into INB. It may vary from product to product and also depend on the kind of number registered with INB, like Indian or international numbers.

HDFC Bank's NetBanking login process does not always require an OTP (One-Time Password) for security reasons. Instead, it uses a risk-based authentication system. This means that the bank's system assesses the risk level of each login attempt based on factors like:

- *Location*: Your login location, device, and browser.
- *Device*: The device you're using to access NetBanking.
- *Browser*: The browser you're using.
- *Login History*: Your past login behavior.

If the system detects any unusual or high-risk activity, it will prompt you to enter an OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email ID. However, if the system considers the login attempt low-risk, it might not ask for an OTP.

To enhance security, consider the following:

- *Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)*: HDFC Bank offers 2FA, which adds an extra layer of security to your NetBanking login.
- *Use a Strong Password*: Ensure your NetBanking password is unique, complex, and regularly updated.
- *Keep Your Device and Browser Up-to-Date*: Regularly update your device's operating system, browser, and security software.
- *Monitor Your Account Activity*: Regularly check your account statements and transaction history for any suspicious activity.
