How to cancel insurance forced on home loan

I recently took home loan from HDFC, but inspite of denying for insurance at all stages, when I went for disbursement, they forced me to take it.
It's premium is now another loan.
Can someone suggest if something can be done still?

give request to cancel in writing immediately.. and then complain ahead

I had faced a similar situation many years back. There is something called the free look period of 15 or 30 days (don't remember exactly). This is true for almost all insurance types. Policy holder can cancel a policy within the free look period without attracting any penalty or interest or any charges at all.
