I have a PPF account in BoB and regularly check it on the BoB World app where it can be seen and operated. But since the beginning of 2026, or probably a week or so earlier, the PPF account persistently displays the balance as 0.00. Upon enquiring with the relevant department in the concerned branch, I was informed that the PPF account is undergoing updation, and will be shortly available with a possible change in the PPF account number. Already more than a month has now transpired, but the account still shows the same details. I was provided with a statement of my PPF account sometime in mid-Jan which showed the correct details, as seen in the PPF passbook. But to date, the app still displays the balance as 0.00.
I sincerely hope that this is just a technical glitch and doesn't pose a cybersecurity hazard. Also, would it be prudent to inform regulating bodies, including the RBI about the same?
Is the problem universal or restricted branchwise? Can any of the esteemed members shed some light on this?
