RBL bank Shoprite credit card apply

I applied for Shoprite credit card yesterday. On 28th January 2025, the application was processed properly and after that VKYC was also done and soon after that a message of VKYC approved also came. After everything is done properly.


Today I got a call from RBL bank where they forced me to upgrade my shoprite credit card to cookies credit card. He said that your credit card has been approved on the basis of your good profile. And the bank is now giving you upgrade and also the cookies card is a chargeable card. So I clearly told him that I want a Shoprite credit card on Rupay network, then he said that it is not necessary that it will be available only on Rupay and it can be available on any network.

I asked again whether the credit card was approved or not, he said that as soon as this call is disconnected, you will receive a confirmation mail and message within 24 to 48 hours. He also said here that right now all the transactions of your card will be disabled. As soon as you receive the physical card, you can activate it and do it from RBLMyCard.


I want to know whether this card should be considered approved or not.

Because I have not received any official mail SMS from the bank. When you check the application status it is showing under process.


I want to know from your experience whether this card has been approved or not. If anyone has had experience with same ways then please share this information with me.

As RBI mandate, all banks are required to sort of disable all kinds of transaction and then ship to the customer specially atm withdrawal, pos, etc.

Customer needs to activate the card and switch on the transaction type that they want to perform ( usual card control activity).

This is not specific to RBL.

I have not applied for RBL card so I am not sure about the experience but if CS rep is informing you that transactions will be disabled during shipping, I would assume that the card is approved.

I am deeply grateful for your precious time. I have received a mail from the bank confirming that the credit card has been approved and will be dispatched soon.
