Should I use an SBI Simply Save Credit card for fuel payments?

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the charges associated with using SBI's SimplySAVE Credit Card for fuel payments.

While I’m aware of the 1% fuel surcharge waiver applicable for transactions between ₹500 and ₹4000, I’m curious about the breakdown of all charges and taxes that might still apply.

Additionally, could someone explain the charges for all three cases:

  1. If the fuel payment is below ₹500,
  2. If it is between ₹500 and ₹4000, and
  3. If it is above ₹4000?
Thank you!

Ok so on SBI simply save the range is 500-3000✅ not 500-4000 ❌

On any fuel transaction you will levied 1.18% but if you purchase the fuel within the range of 500-3000 it will give you 1% cashback so You have to pay only 0.18% of the transaction amount.

1. If it is under 500 it will get fees of 1.18%
2. If it is in range it will levied 1.18% but 1% will be given back ..so technically you have to pay 0.18% of the transaction amount.
3. if it is above 3000 you have to pay 1.18% fully..you will not get any sort of cashback.

Point To be noted :- There is a Cap of 100 INR per statement. Means You can only purchase 10000 INR fuel per statement cycle and have to pay only 18 rupees for that if You purchase that in the range every time

If you exceed 10000 per statement then the 1.18% charged will levied again on top of the amount...and no sort of cashback will given

Thanks bro for clarification, I guess it's better to pay with cash or UPI.

It's better to use fuel credit cards like SBI BPCL Octane or HDFC IOCL for fuel purchases.

Else, pay using your regular savings/salary bank account. And you may use the app, super money, to get cashback rewards on these regular payments.
