If your fund has doubled, you can sell 50% shares and invest in other shares....

If there is no urgency or any requirement for the money you can let it multiply itself, don't withdraw it.
The money once invested should not be withdrawn fully as it compounds itself and 'Compounding is the 8th wonder of the world'.
We always buy shares with some goal in mind that should be taken care of before withdrawing our money, profits can sometimes withdrawn but only if the goal is short term profit, when our goal is long term or the retirement corpus it should be left as it is to compound itself.
