I am using the following cards:

1. Amazon Pay ICICI:
5% cashback on Amazon for most of my spends

2. Airtel Axis:
10% cashback on utility bills like electricity, and gas up to Rs. 300 monthly
10% cashback on Zomato up to Rs. 500
25% cashback on Airtel phone recharges

3. HDFC Millenia:
5% cashback on IRCTC train tickets and bus tickets via Smartbuy platform
5% cashback on Book my show

4. PNB Platinum Rupay CC:
I use this for UPI payments to get that 30 - 45-day period. It has negligible cashback of 0.5%.
It is more of an LTF card as you have to spend once every quarter.

I'm planning to apply for:
SBI Cashback CC

Which American Express (AmEx) card would you suggest for a complete beginner who travels frequently by train (and is also interested in air miles, although they could expire before I could use them) and so cashbacks cards would be good?

Amex SmartEarn or MRCC. You can go through below link to apply. If you use this link then your First Year joining fee will be Nil as well as your Annual fee on MRCC card will be just 1500 +GST instead of 4500.

My first credit card was ICICI Platinum chip card which I have till today and it is just roaming around because after this I got ONECARD, Amazon PAY ICICI CARD easily and now after Platinum it got upgraded to Coral card that too in RUPAY Variant which I use for UPI transactions.
After these I got two cards added to my portfolio with INDUSIND LEGEND CARD and HDFC TATA NEU INFINITY CARD, this one is very useful as it is RUPAY Variant which can be used in UPI and it gives flat 10% DISCOUNT on all tata brands like BIG BASKET,CROMA,TANISHQ, etc.
TOTAL I have 10 credit cards in my portfolio all for different discounts and features.
I always carry my TATA NEU RUPAY CARD, ONECARD for offers around you, sometimes I add AMAZON one too in my wallet but these two are constant.
