Hello Friends,

I have Aquaguard Sure Delight NXT( RO+UV+UF). My warranty expires on 6th March 2026. I had scheduled my 2nd free service this morning. The executive turned up 1 hour late. I thought he will clean the filters like he did in 1st free service. But, he inspected the filter and told me it needs replacement very soon and if he tries to clean it now, It will get clogged. Don't know how true it is?

Next, he insisted on buying AMC from him and not online. My plan was to go for Silver AMC which comes with 2 filter replacement but he is insisting on buying Gold AMC as he said RO kit and 3 filter replacement are covered under Gold plan.

I did not commit to anything as I said I will renew AMC after I come back from tour. Looking forward to your Inputs.

AMCs are a scam in my opinion. They are just repackaged extended warranty. But if you see value in them, buy it from the technician only if the rate is lower than what's offered online. If you buy it from the technician, he gets his commission. Also, if possible try to source filters online directly from Aquaguard site. You can also get non OEM filters online from amazon or flipkart cheaper. I can't comment on their quality though.

I don't think technician will sell cheaper AMC. He is trying to upsell Gold AMC which would cost Rs.3600 as compared to Silver AMC which is 2000+.

The difference between the two, he suggests is that Gold AMC comes with an additional filter replacement and covers RO filter kit which in case of Silver AMC is 50% off on MRP.

He says I will have to anyways shell extra money in case I opt for Silver AMC. Also, he is asking us not to pay for AMC online as it may not be a valid one.

He won't sell you the cheaper plan - Red flag. Tell him to back off.
Tell him it's your decision whether to get the Gold or Silver. Not his. He's not the one paying for it.

Say if you plan to get Gold AMC and the price is 3600 in the official Aquaguard website also, why should one get it from the technician?
No monetary benefit for the customer. The tech gets his maximum commission.

I saw this on Aquaguard website - "Buy AMC online to get upto 20% off"
Ask the tech, if a customer is purchasing AMC online from Aquaguard website, how can it be invalid?

Compare all plans - Base, Silver, Gold & Platinum.
If you see value in any of them, i.e. you are willing to prepay x amount yearly for water purifier maintenance, then go ahead.

Thanks for your inputs. I have not taken the AMC yet. My machine has already completed 14 months and filter has not yet been replaced.

I called the Urban company executive 2 weeks back. He came and inspected the machine, calculated input and output TDS, cleaned the tank etc. He said machine is okay and might work fine for next few months.

The water flow is still okay, taste is same and hence machine can be managed for now. He asked us to watch out for flow reducing appreciably and red light coming in the machine. 6000 litres is the maximum limit. That is the time filters need replacement.

Further, He said input TDS is 400+ and output is coming around 10-12. He also said, there is no TDS adjuster in this machine. What would be the right time to buy AMC from Eureka Forbes?

The external pre-filter (if present) is cheap to replace. It makes sure the internal filters doesn't have to work that hard. Replace that alone every 4-6 months (check with the brand for ideal interval). Check the condition of the pre-filter during replacement. Then increase or decrease the replacement interval as you see fit.

You can stretch the replacement interval of the internal filters (they are expensive). Get a cheap TDS meter online. Check the TDS level by yourself. Water above 100 TDS is considered to be hard. And you'll feel the difference. From usual 10 to 100 TDS - You'll know. At this point you can think about AMC or even earlier.

After getting the AMC, don't bother about the above tips. Company will replace filters at set interval as part of AMC. If any one of the internal filters gets blocked or starts leaking, replace that alone instead of replacing them all. This isn't applicable to you since you're getting an AMC. Eureka will probably do the same too.

I had bought a new UV filter and water output stopped after 9 months. warranty was for 1 year. They denied to replace the filters for free citing my consumption is high, so the filters got used up. Earlier models used to give you LED light notification that its time to change the filters. But, the new models are fit with autoshut off circuits after a certain time, even if the filters are good. I had escalated the issue and it ran for 1-2 months and finally got free filters replaced. I had the AG technician remove the circuit and got it fitted with AG retro model, so the filter change notification will be come-up, but output would not stop suddenly. Cutting off output suddenly and forcing me to buy AMC or filters immediately was annoying and I escalated that feature is wrong.

You get 3rd party filters for AG, but need to check their performance in par with AG
