Hello Bekifaayatians,
In 2019, I was a diligent credit card user with a Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) credit card. I consistently made timely payments and had a spotless payment history. However, a fraudulent transaction occurred on my card, leading me to immediately report it to SCB's customer care. Unfortunately, SCB disputed my claim and categorized the transaction as legitimate. Despite filing an FIR and a cybercrime complaint, the fraudulent amount continues to be reflected as outstanding.
This unfortunate incident has severely impacted my credit score, currently hovering around 650. As a result, I'm unable to obtain premium credit cards or even increase limits on my existing cards. This is particularly frustrating given my history of timely payments and substantial monthly transactions.
To rectify this situation, I'm seeking guidance on improving my credit score and potentially removing or closing the fraudulent SCB transaction from my credit report. Any advice on these matters would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Naveen
