Hey, good decision to look into Silver ETFs for long-term investment! Since your horizon is 8+ years, focus on cost, tracking accuracy, and liquidity before choosing one.

Here are the key things to check:
  • Expense ratio: Lower is better since it compounds over time.
  • AUM & liquidity: Larger funds are easier to buy/sell with minimal price difference.
  • Tracking error: Choose ETFs that closely mirror silver prices.
  • Premium/discount to NAV: Avoid buying when the ETF trades at a high premium.
  • Physical backing: Ensure it’s backed by 99.9% pure silver.
Some popular and reliable options are ICICI Prudential Silver ETF, Nippon India Silver ETF, and HDFC Silver ETF — all have decent AUM and track records.

Since silver prices can be volatile, consider investing in small amounts instead of a lump sum. Also, keep an eye on expense ratio and fund performance every year. Over the long term, a low-cost, large AUM fund with minimal tracking error should serve you best.

If you want to diversify further, you can combine an ETF with a Silver FoF for easier SIP investing.
