I visited Axis bank as I have to open a basic Zero Balance saving account but they denied and told that zero acc balance account option is not available from our end! Hence can we do anything regarding this!
Axis Bank cannot deny opening a Zero Balance Savings Account if you are eligible. It is officially called a Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA) and is mandated by RBI.
If the branch is refusing:
Ask them specifically for BSBDA (many staff avoid the term “zero balance”).
Request the reason in writing or speak to the branch manager.
You can also lodge a complaint on Axis Bank customer care / RBI Banking Ombudsman if they still deny without valid reason.
Alternatively, you may open a BSBDA easily with banks like SBI, Bank of Baroda, PNB, etc., where zero-balance accounts are commonly offered without issues.
The told me that it’s cannot be opened through the branch! Only by visiting CSP you can open through that in Pradhan Mantri Jandhan Bank Yojna! Or else we cannot open that specially from our branch because Zero ACC balance Account is not available to open from our end!
