SAPPHIRO CREDIT CARD AMC

I have ICICI Amazon Pay and Coral Rupay credit card(both LTF). For these two cards there are different credit limits.

One day I got a mail saying that my account upgrade request has been accepted(although I didn't applied for it) and Sapphiro Amex Credit card and Sapphiro Master Credit card has been dispatched.
Since their AMC charge is very much and doesn't have much benefits I decided not to activate it. As per RBI guidelines it should get cancelled automatically if I don't activate within 30 days time limit.
After few days I noticed my credit limit of Coral Rupay credit card was merged with Sapphiro Card.
Now more than 30 days have passed but it still showing in my iMobile app.
And now the new statement that generated is showing as Sapphiro's statement. Although both coral and sapphiro card has the same shared limit.
Now I have few questions :
1. Will the AMC of Sapphiro be deducted in current scenario?
2. What I need to do to permanently remove Sapphiro card from my iMobile account?
3. As the credit limit was shared between Sapphiro and Coral, do I need to close both cards as the statement of coral is now showing as Sapphiro's statement or is there any way to downgrade my account as it was before(only for coral)?

1. Will the AMC of Sapphiro be deducted in current scenario?
If you have not activated the Sapphiro cards (i.e., not completed the OTP-based activation), as per RBI guidelines, the card issuer should automatically close the card after 30 days (with a 7-day grace period, total 37 days) and you should not be charged any joining or annual fee. However, since your iMobile app and statement now show Sapphiro, it suggests the card may have been activated or linked as your primary account, possibly due to a system or process issue. If you have not activated the card yourself, you should not be liable for AMC, but you must confirm with ICICI Bank immediately to avoid unexpected charges.
2. What I need to do to permanently remove Sapphiro card from my iMobile account?
You need to formally request cancellation of the Sapphiro card. You can do this by:
  • Logging into iMobile or Net Banking and submitting a card closure request.
  • Email ICICI CC Support Team, from your registered email with card details.
  • Calling ICICI customer care or visiting a branch.
Make sure to specify you never activated the card and want it removed due to non-consent and non-activation.
3. As the credit limit was shared between Sapphiro and Coral, do I need to close both cards as the statement of coral is now showing as Sapphiro's statement or is there any way to downgrade my account as it was before(only for coral)?
Since your Coral and Sapphiro cards now share a limit and the statement is under Sapphiro, your account may have been upgraded/merged by the bank. If you want to revert to only Coral (your original LTF card), you should:
  • Request a downgrade or reversal to your previous card (Coral) via customer care or email, explaining the situation and non-activation of Sapphiro.
  • If the bank does not allow downgrade, you may need to close both cards and reapply for Coral, but insist on a downgrade first as this is less disruptive to your credit history and limit.
  • Keep written/email records of all communications.
