It seems that RuPay credit cards may not be accepted for all UPI payments, and even when accepted, cashback may not be available... I've got super card pro which is a co branded credit card from Axis bank × super money....but when I scan qr codes at shops sometimes it's shows merchant not accepting card and sometimes if merchant is accepting the card 3% cashback isn't allowed... rarely I see 3% cashback option.

This issue occurs only in Super Money, not all RuPay Credit Cards. If you're looking to maximize rewards, try using the Tata Neu Credit Card via the Tata Neu app—this way, you'll earn 1.5% NeuCoins on every UPI transaction, capped at 500 Neu Coins per month Or else, just use any RuPay Credit Card via the Navi app to get at least some cashback. 🤗

I know that, but if you regularly pay a merchant using a credit card like buying groceries and vegetables, Super Money will simply display a message stating that this transaction is not eligible for cashback and won't provide a single paisa, unlike Tata Neu and Navi, which always offer cashback.

Receiving cashback is different. He said merchant doesn't accept Payment through Rupay CC.

I have observed that too. Many shops where I used to pay via Rupay CC don't accept it anymore.

Payment issues is a generic problem, and the reason is the same as you mentioned. However, the unusual part here is that Super Money often does not provide cashback on UPI payments made via RuPay Credit Card.

Merchants are generally unwilling to reduce their profit margins just for customer convenience. 🤑

RuPay Credit Card on UPI – Why Issues Happen:

Not all merchants accept RuPay credit cards via UPI. Some QR codes only work with bank accounts, not credit cards.

3% cashback depends on merchant category (MCC). If the merchant is not tagged under the correct category (like dining, online, etc.), cashback won’t apply.

Co-branded card rewards are category-based. UPI transactions may not qualify if they don’t match the cashback terms.

Use apps like PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM for better compatibility, and prefer swiping or online use for assured cashback.
