Credit card network switch

If I switch my card variant from Visa to Rupay, will the existing account be closed and a new account be reflected in my CIBIL report?

Actually it depends on the bank.
The higher probability is that the same card account will be there and no new entry.
Or else the issuing date will remain the same for your new network type as well.
And the previous Card will be shown closed.

take this into consideration that either conditions doesn't make any difference to your CIBIL.

Even i did the same thing, Good news is that old account remained same. However they charged the joining fee of 500 again for changing variant

How did you change the variant. The customer care told me to close the current card and apply again for rupay variant.
