I have an ICICI Amazon pay credit card and I want to take Coral rupay credit card for UPI payment. But pre approved offer is not there
Keep using ICICI card, max 10th month before dasara sale starts you could get it preapproved. Most of ICICI apay card users got core ICICI card before dasara sale last year, where every site had ICICI card offer and apay card was excluded from 10% instant discounts.

- Hope you get rubyx instead of coral as Rubyx is also in rupay network.

The ICICI Coral Credit Card is an entry-level card designed for those new to credit cards or looking for a low-maintenance option. Here's a breakdown of its pros and cons to help you decide if it's the right fit for you:

  • Rewards:
    • Earn 2 Reward Points per Rs. 100 spent on most categories (except fuel).
    • Earn 1 Reward Point per Rs. 100 spent on utilities and insurance.
    • Bonus points under the ICICI Bank Milestone Rewards program:
      • 2,000 points on spending Rs. 2 lakh in a year.
      • 1,000 bonus points every time you spend above Rs. 1 lakh thereafter (up to 10,000 points per year).
    • Redeem points for various rewards like vouchers, movie tickets, merchandise, and more.
  • Travel:
    • Complimentary access to airport and railway lounges in India (limited visits per quarter).
  • Movies:
    • Offers on movie tickets through partner platforms like BookMyShow and INOX (limited redemptions per month).
  • Fuel:
    • 1% fuel surcharge waiver on transactions below Rs. 4,000 at HPCL pumps (when swiped on the ICICI Merchant Services machine).
  • Others:
    • Contactless payments for faster and secure transactions.
    • Online account management for tracking expenses and rewards.

  • Low annual fee of Rs. 500 (waivable on spending a certain amount annually).
Eligibility:

  • Minimum age: 23 years for primary cardholder, 18 years for add-on cards.
  • Minimum income: Rs. 5 lakh annually (as per ITR).
  • Good credit history (generally a score of 700 or above).
Things to Consider:

  • Low reward rate: Compared to other cards, the reward rate on spending is average.
  • Limited benefits: Lounge access and movie offers are restricted.
  • Fuel surcharge waiver limited: Only applicable to specific transactions.
  • Better suited for:
    • New cardholders building credit score.
    • Individuals with occasional spending who prioritize a low annual fee.
Alternatives to Consider:

  • For higher rewards: Explore cards offering better cashback or reward points on your preferred spending categories.
  • For extensive travel benefits: Look for cards with wider lounge access programs and travel insurance.
Overall, the ICICI Coral Credit Card is a decent option for beginners due to its low annual fee and basic benefits. However, if you're a regular spender or seek richer rewards, consider exploring other cards that better suit your spending habits.
